C. Making Math Move with Digital Flipbooks
By Scott Thompson
Students created digital flipbooks (Sprites) to help learn and understand mathematical skills and concepts. Using digital cameras, tri-pods, and general classroom materials, students created thirty second skits that demonstrated a specific skill or concept. The project encouraged students to look at individual steps in a process and explain, in their on words, how to complete each step. This project is one example of how to integrate technology into the math classroom.

G. Implementing 21st Century Skills in the Middle School Classroom
Eli Rosenberg
21st Century Skills – make content relevant, use modern tools of technology, develop thinking & problem solving skills, study academic content through real world examples, and on and on. In this project middle school worked with the town’s Parks Department, using Garmin GPS units and ESRI's ArcGIS software, to map Knotweed stands and decide where to take "management actions" (i.e. stomping knotweed!). Through the mapping process, students learned how geographic data analysis can be used to identify how to manage resources. These tools are readily available to classrooms teachers.
